David is a Senior Associate in Deacons’ Intellectual Property practice.
He joined Deacons in June 2014, having previously trained and qualified at a large city firm in London, and is qualified as a solicitor in both Hong Kong (2016) and England & Wales (2010).
David holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Biochemistry from Imperial College of University of London, England, a Master of Science degree in Entrepreneurship, Science & Technology, University of Nottingham, England and an LLB from The College of Law, London, England. He also holds a Postgraduate diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice from Oxford University, England.
He is the author of a number of articles on data protection, including for LexMundi’s Newsletter on Data Protection. He is also the co-author of the Hong Kong chapter of LexMundi’s Data Privacy Guide (2016), and the co-author of the Hong Kong Chapter of “Data Protection & Privacy – International Series (Third Edition)” published by Thomson Reuters (2016).
David is the Legal Committee Chair and a Council Member the Licensing Executives Society (LES) Hong Kong (2017 & 2018), the co-chair of Long Range Planning Committee of the LES, and also the Chair of the Organising Committee for LES’ inaugural Pan-Asian Young Members Congress in Hong Kong (2018).
