Thomas Ulrich graduated as a pyhsicist from the Justus-Maximilians-Universität in Würzburg (Diploma) and the Université Joseph Fourier Grenoble (Maîtrise de Physique). He worked with the patent departments of Deutsche Telekom MobilNet GmbH (today T-Mobile) on mobile communication and traffic telematics/traffic management systems, with Siemens AG on semiconductor technology and integrated circuits (now Infineon Technologies AG) as well as with DaimlerChrysler AG and EADS Deutschland GmbH on satellite and rocket technology. Besides that, Thomas Ulrich has competent knowledge on physics and medical technology.
Moreover, Thomas Ulrich has gained deep insight into the typical challenges in the intellectual property business of industry through his functions as Head of Intellectual Property with Micronas GmbH in multimedia semiconductor business and as Senior Vice Presidend and Head of Intellectual Property with manroland AG (formerly MAN Roland Druckmaschinen AG) where Thomas Ulrich gained deep insight into the techonolgy of printing presses. Today, in his function as Corporate Counsel, Thomas Ulrich is Vice President and Head of Corporate Intellectual Property with BSH Hausgeräte GmbH (formerly BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH).
He qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 1999 and as a German patent attorney in 2003.
Thomas Ulrich is a member of AIPPI, FICPI, LES and the German Association of Intellectual Property Experts (VPP).
